Our Story

We pioneered a singular focus on flavour and aroma without regard for the concessions that large scale operations make. We’re on the cutting edge of new hop innovations in breeding, growing, harvesting and processing with the performance of our hops in finished beer our central focus.

Just like our flavour, our processing is unrivalled. We grow, pick, dry and pelletise all our own hops directly on our farm, allowing us to optimise each step of the process, from field to foil in less than 72 hours. Our custom-built processing facility has the coolest mill temps and lowest residual oxygen. Every part of our processing is engineered to preserve the super-fresh, just-harvested aromas in our pellets without concern for throughput or other traditional processing compromises of high-volume facilities.

A gentle and cool journey from field to foil minimises oxidation and volitisation of all those appealing aroma compounds. Our gentle processes create pellets that disperse easily and ensure the full spectrum of hop compounds found at harvest are preserved and end up in your beer.

We grow all the well known New Zealand varietals, like Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka, along with multiple advanced selections from our cutting edge breeding programme, like Peacharine. Our pioneering botanical blends and Phantasm collaborations are widely loved and our SubZero Hop Kief® is the only cryogenic dry hopping liquid made from amazing lots of your favourite NZ varietals.
